FAQs

How strong is the Case® brand?
It started from humble beginnings in 1961 with a simple vision from Fred Case - “build a business and not a practice”. Almost half a century later Case has become the largest full-service remodeling company in the nation. Serving over 180 territories and with over 100,000 clients nationwide, the Case brand is strong and getting stronger. Some of our highlights include:

  • Case is the only remodeling organization with a seat on the board of the Better Business Bureau.
  • Case sits on the Remodeling Futures – Joint Center for Housing Studies Board at Harvard University.
  • Case has won over 70 awards in a variety of categories including design, construction, business, marketing, and technology.
  • Case has been recognized as the largest full-service remodeler in the nation since 2003, by Qualified Remodeler magazine.
  • Case has more Certified Remodelers, Certified Green Remodelers, and Certified Lead Carpenters than any other organization in the country.
  • Case has been featured in articles and stories in The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Forbes, Fast Company, Inc., The Chicago Tribune, and on ABC, NBC, CBS, and HGTV.

What are your recommended capital requirements?
The Handyman Model requires approximately $95K-105K of total capitalization for the first three years. The Handyman & Remodeling Model capital range is $200K -300K. The actual amounts needed are determined through a joint business planning process. Most franchisees fund their businesses through banks and/or SBA programs, but there are many ways to go about business capital structure. Case is listed on the SBA Registry. Your Development Director is a useful resource for this information as each franchisee is unique in this regard.

Does Case prescribe the business plan?

No. Each one of our franchisees creates their own plan. Case has financial models you can use to develop your plan and we execute plans annually with all of the owners in the system. Some franchisees are fast growers and some are slower. There is room for both at Case. We will assist you in developing a solid business plan to meet your goals.

Do I get a protected territory?
Yes. Case grants protected territory as part of the franchise fee and also first rights of refusal.

Can I see Case and get to know Case before making a decision?
Yes, in fact we have a well-defined due diligence process that starts with our open house meetings which are intended to provide you with a solid understanding of what we do. If you attend a meeting and decide to continue evaluating Case, we have a series of homework steps that will allow you to get the information you need, both from us and our existing franchisees.

Why do you have an open house meeting?
Our franchisee candidates need a solid base level of knowledge in order to effectively evaluate our opportunity. The open house allows our visitors to better understand our business model and decide for themselves if they would like to continue evaluating Case.
